Free Digital Tools to Tell Your Story and Grow Your Impact
Marketing isn’t just for businesses—use digital marketing to boost visibility, connect with supporters, and attract donations. One powerful (and free!) tool? The Google Ad Grant. To qualify you must be a 501(c)(3).
1. What is the Google Ad Grant?
Eligible nonprofits can receive up to $10,000 per month in free advertising through Google search ads. That means when someone searches for related services, your nonprofit could appear at the top of the results.
2. How to Apply
- Register your organization the required third-party provider that Google provides
- Apply for Google for Nonprofits
- Activate the Google Ad Grant through your admin dashboard
- Google provides guidance and account support, but many nonprofits also partner with digital marketing experts to manage their ads.
- Be sure to have your tax-exempt nonprofit designation letter with your EIN ready to submit with your application
- Tip: approval is far easier if the person applying for the grant has an email address that matches your website, e.g. Name@yournonprofit.com.
3. Make the Most of It, Promote
- Your services and impact
- Donation or volunteer opportunities
- Events and fundraisers
- Educational content (e.g., about special needs trusts, disability rights, etc.)
